German Lotto 6aus49

The first draw for the German Lotto 6 aus 49 was held way back in 1955. Its one of the oldest lotteries on earth! There have been a couple of changes since then though. There used to be just one draw a week until it was changed to twice a week in 1982.

Superzahl

The German Lotto game originally had 7 out of 38 numbered balls but in 1986 it was changed to the format we know now. Literally, 6 aus 49 means “6 out of 49”. One last change came when they introduced the “Superzahl” super number.

High minimum jackpots

The Wednesday jackpot has a minimum of €1 million and Saturday is a minimum of a whopping €3 million!
